As I’m sure you all are aware of, Russia has invaded Ukraine. And as you know, our church (and the whole GMI network) have a very close relationship with churches throughout Ukraine. For over 16 years, we annually lead their National Pastors Conference. We also put on their annual Men’s Conference. And we’ve hosted large groups of pastors out at Charis Canyon for weeks of training, and have done the same for key business leaders from across Ukraine. In short, our deep commitment and ties to Ukraine go way beyond just helping them build churches and developing a regional retreat center.
I want to encourage all of our members to dedicate time daily to pray for Ukraine — especially for the churches, church leaders, and church members there. They are our brothers and sisters in Christ! As a reminder to our community to pray for Ukraine, we will be flying the Ukrainian flag this week at the church.
There will come a time in the near future when they will need our financial help. But right now, there is no greater (and no better) thing we can do than pray for this nation and these people. Let’s pray that God sovereignly intervenes in this affair, and uses it wonderfully for His ultimate good.
Trusting in His goodness and grace,
Pastor Myles
